The concept of transformation by experimentation remains for me a greater and far more rewarding method of creation, in the largest whole, than working within the confines of a set vision who’s parameters do not change. The viewer might interpret my shifts as slight, however the deeper my investigations travel within the established parameters the greater they become by virtue of their subtlety and complexity. The value of conducting this metamorphosis between sculpture and painting exists initially within my process and is the satisfaction of my need to define myself within the context of an ever changing experience. But more importantly the value this elasticity brings to the work is that the discoveries which occur in both sculpture and painting inform the content and delivery of each other. And the ultimate value? I believe that belongs to the viewer who by seeing the world through this changing perspective is perhaps able to transform a perception of reality into a previously undiscovered dimension.
